Dancing with the Green Fairy ( A Break From Smurfery)

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter." (Revelation 8:10, 11 )
The Wormwood bites my tongue. The kiss of bitterness caresses my lips into numbness as the green liquor sears it's way through my insides. A halo of angels circles my head there soft moth like wings flutter in tune with there voices singing in unison the hymns of my childhood. The seven seals are opened and the book of revelation becomes a sea of blood. As I take in the vision of apocalyptic distraction I understand why the 19th century artists drank Absinthe. The warm licorice like illusion entices me into the dance of the green fairy. She giggles and sways to the sound of the moth angels voices that have moved from the crown of my head to the light of the room. They sing Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" and the Green Fairy listens to Marilyn Manson explain his recipe for Absinthe. As this party is going on Vincent Vangogh sips the emerald liquid as he captures it all on his canvas with swirling whirls of paint. The colors of the painting drowned me in there technicolor patterns as I fall into unconsciousness.
